    We are in business with eyewear since 1928 and on the Internet since 1997. We never dealt with fakes, imitations, non-original sunglasses.
    All sunglasses purchased from us come with their original case (hard or soft, depending on the frame) and all the papers from the manufacturer or the official distributor.

    How do I find about special offers or upcoming sales on Unitedshades.com ?
    Upcoming news and monthly specials are posted on the home page. There you can find periodic discounts on selected brands. Do not forget to subscribe to our mailing list to receive service updates, new brand welcome's, special discounts and more.

    How do I search for sunglasses on Unitedshades.com ?
    You can browse and search within our catalog in two ways. The basic way is selecting the brand you are interested from the list shown in the home page. For your ease of use we have divided the articles in a collection in "Men's" and "Women's" groups. You will be shown the complete collection for the gender you have chosen.
    The advanced way is to search through our complete catalog using the Search page, where you can set the options to run the search: Brand, Gender, Shape, Frame, Lens, and Size range. The search will run through all the collections with the selected options. Useful if you are looking for a, e.g., metal style, rectangular shaped, with polarized lenses.

    What are the "Lens Diameter", "Nose Bridge Length", "Bar Length" measures in every sunglass page ?
    Those three measures, expressed in millimters, allow to understand the size of sunglasses. The most important is the Lens Diameter.
    Lens Diameter + Nose Bridge + Lens Diameter = Frame Width.
    To understand those measures, here is a picture of what they refer to:

    How do I choose the right measure for me ?
    The most simple way to do it is looking inside one of the arms of the sunglasses you already own. Along with the model # and color #, there should be some other numbers, like these:
    GG 1178/S DL5 55-18
    That means model:
  • Gucci 1178
  • color DL5
  • lens diameter 55mm
  • nose bridge 18mm

  • Not all the sunglasses have the same coding inside the arms, but if you see a number usually within the range of 46-62, it is the lens diameter.
    If the frame you have indicates a measure of 55mm, and they fit well on your face, you should choose a size around 55mm.

    Which payment method I can use at Unitedshades.com ?
    You can pay for your Unitedshades.com order using your VISA, Mastercard, Eurocard o American Express credit card. We also support PayPal. When placing the order, please provide your exact billing address (where you receive your card monthly statements), as shown on the statement itself. Incorrect information may cause a processing delay.

    How much does the shipping cost ?
    We can ship your Unitedshades.com order by Federal Express or Air Mail. Price difference is little between the two methods so we strongly suggest to choose Federal Express because Fedex shipments are trackable and insured against damages and losses.     It depends on which country you are from. If you live in USA/Canada/European Union, your purchase is tax-free. Other countries may ask you to pay a sales tax when Federal Express delivers your order to your address.

    Will I be charged for custom duties ?
    It depends on which country you are from. USA/Canada/European Union customers do not have to pay for custom duties. If you live in another country than those specified above, your purchase will be taxed by your Custom at your country's import rates. Import rates can be high: please inquiry us to learn more.

    Is it safe to use my credit card over the Internet ?
    Unitedshades.com uses the latest Internet security technology to protect your credit card information—the Secure Socket Layer system. This system is compatible with both the Netscape and Internet Explorer web browsers and ensures that your credit card number is protected and cannot be viewed by outside parties.

    I need my order shipped to a totally different person, in another city or country.
    For an increased security, we usually do not accept online orders with a shipping address in a different city or country than where the card is issued. After you place the order, at our discretion, you will be asked by a Customer Service representative to provide some identity proofs so we can be sure you are the real owner of the credit card.

    Can I order through an off-line channel ?
    We prefer online orders because they are faster and more accurate, but if you prefer an offline channel you can order via fax 24h a day using one of the numbers in our fax network in Europe, USA, Japan and Australia. Don't forget to include in the fax:

  • the name written on the card

  • the billing address of the card

  • your e-mail address

  • For a better order handling, you can use the Printable Order Form. We will confirm the receiption via email. Please write in capital letters.

    When will my order arrive ?
    Delivery time = processing time + shipping time.
    Our average processing time is usually 48-72 hours for stock items and 1-2 weeks for backorder items.

    Fedex shipments to Europe and to North America take 1-2 days, up to 2/5 days for all the other destinations. Sometimes, shipping time can be delayed by your country's custom controls.

    How can I return my purchase ?
    Our return policy is simple: if you don't like what you ordered, just send the item back to us and we will refund your credit card or we will give you a credit for the same amount, whichever you prefer.     How are Unitedshades.com orders packaged ?
    Sunglasses are delicate article so we put our efforts to package them to not be damaged while traveling. Every article comes with its original case, usually a hard case, sometimes a soft bag, and with a microfiber cloth to clean them. Occasionally, other gifts are included in the shipments.

    What if my order gets lost or damaged during the shipping (Air Mail vs. Federal Express)?
    We always, strongly, suggest Federal as shipping method because it is faster, it is trackable, and, most important, it is ensured against damages and losses. If your package gets lost, or it is delivered damaged, we will handle the case with Fedex and replace your order immediately. Instead, we cannot be responsible for any problem occurring with Air Mail shipment because, at the moment, we do not have any tool to control packages traveling in that way.

    I own my Federal Express account number, can I use it for the shipping?
    Of course. You can provide your Fedex account number in the "Special Instructions" field you will find in the order form.

    How can I track the shipment ?
    Once your order has been shipped, you will receive a shipping confirmation receipt showing the Fedex AWB number. You can track your package from Fedex website or clicking the link provided in the receipt.

    What information do you collect and how do you use it ?
    To handle your purchase, we need to know your name, email address, mailing address, and credit card details. This information allows us to process and fulfill your order and to notify you of your order status. We may also use the information we collect to occasionally notify you about important functionality changes to the Web site, new Unitedshades.com services, and special offers we think you'll find valuable. If you would rather not receive this information, you can remove yourself from our member list by emailing us at mailing@Unitedshades.com with the word "unsubscribe" in the subject of the email.
